Guest guest
I have ask several times in this group about my yellow skin. My hole body is more yellow then "normal" but specially my hands, feets and around my eyes and mouth is yellow. And it varies.. Some weeks I am very yellow and other weeks less. I have tried to figure out what the reason is. My liver test is almost normal (asat and alat is a bit elevated but bilirbubin is normal) so my doctor is not concerned. The best conclusion I have is all the beta caroten I eat because I eat a lot of winter squash and carrots. And that my body can not convert it into retinol. But the strange thing is:For 2 weeks ago I was again in a "very yellow/orange" periode where lots of people commented my yellow skin and asked why.. I went on holiday for spring break. And I ate butternut squash, carrots and broccoli for every meal because I didn't like the other veggies they had there. So I ate lots and lots of betacarotene. And guess what!?When I came home my mother said - wow where is your yellow hands? So I think I give up.. I don't understand why I am yellow. Now I am very little yellow compaired to what I have been but I am still much more yellow then normal.Karianne19 year old with ASDOn scd since august 09www.scdandme.com
