Guest guest
For all concerned, Please join us at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DS-Insurance_Authorization_Problems Indeed, BC of California has been troublesome since June 1st. Dr. K has not been able to get approvals despite a major effort. There is some anecdotal evidence that other surgeons may be getting approvals through some backhanded techniques. Hull > Hi Everyone, > > I am posting this message on multiple groups in the hope that more folks can shed some light on the situation. I am new to this group and I have my first consult next month with Dr. Keshishian. I have been told via telephone by staff at his office that California Blue Cross has become difficult recently in approving the DS. They (BC) have been approving the RNY rather than the DS and they have had to appeal. This is what I was told and I was just wondwering if there is anyone else here who has heard the same, or if there is anyone who has Blue Cross of CA and has been approved recently for the DS. If so, what was the approval process like for you?, how long did it take?. I prefer the DS over the RNY and not even sure why the insurance would be more approval friendly with the RNY. Any comments and advice would be appreciated. Thanks,
