Guest guest
For those children experiencing bloating, gas and other digestive disturbances consider the many benefits of spices such as ginger, fennel, cinnamon, nutmeg, chamomile and peppermint. They can all be made into a tea. I use a combination of raw grated ginger and fennel for my daughter (1 teaspoon of each in about 3 cups of water). Our doctor started 9 months ago on this tea combination and it works really well. I will post separately a more detailed overview of a clinical analysis for each of these remedies. 1. Ginger soothes nausea, motion sickness and other stomach upset; relieves morning sickness, eliminates intestinal gas, and relaxes and soothes the intestinal tract and encourages bile flow. 2. Fennel can be useful for indigestion and spasms of the digestive tract. 3. Cinnamon supports digestive function. 4. Nutmeg for nausea and vomiting, indigestion and diarrhea. 5. Peppermint is soothing to the digestive tract and relieves symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome. Beth
