Now that she moved to Mt. Sinai, I recommend the Mt. Sinai Guest

Residence hotel, which is across the street from the hospital and a

brief 2 block walk to the dr's office building. $169 a night for

double bed with full kitchen; $190 a night for two double beds. Not a

4 star place but can't beat the convenience and the kitchen and the

front staff.

Otherwise, we love the Excelsior. Upper west side across the street

from the Natural History Museum. Manager is Ivan Weiner. 4 star

hotel, beautiful lobby - definitely a " hotel " atmosphere with

concierge, etc. Ivan has been great in trying to give low rates to

our families, as long as it isn't holiday season. I've gotten a room

with a double bed for $139-$159!!!! It is about a $6 cab ride non-

rush hour over to the hospital. And if you are staying an extra day

in the city, cant beat the location -- Planetarium and Natural History

Museum are literally across the street.

Please tell Ivan Weiner that the MAGIC Foundation referred you.
