Guest guest
My daughter has crohns and has been on the diet since 9/09, diagnosed in 6/09. She is on 6mp which I believe contributes to her fatigue. But we have also consulted with an integrative health specialist who has prescribed supplements in addition to the muli vitamin and calcium we purchase from Freeda Vitamins. So now she is taking fish oil twice daily (child size supplement) and taking D3 which is proving to be helpful in treating crohns ( you can do a google search) and few other items based on her blood test results. But the integrative health specialist also recommendedthat she eat small portions of protein through out the day. Her energy levels have increased greatly from a combination of these items. The really good news, she just had a follow up endoscopy and colonoscopy, last week, and the doctor says she has improved 99.9%. The ulcerations in her stomach are completely healed and clear, the inflamation in her ileum is miniscule. . . the GI believe it is from the 6mp but I believe it is diet. . . . .getting these great results has also served as inspiration to both of us. Me for the time in the kitchen and shoppingand my daughter for knowing she can be in control of this condition. It is hard, she's eighteen and headed to college next year and very, very busy with many activities. Hang in there. I'm still hoping to find a doctor to prescribe the ldn and get her off the 6mp but am grateful for the exam results and know it will happen in time. I believe that the medical professionals will eventually come around. . .
