LIE to me! (question at end of my rant)

Hello, again. Seems as though I'm making up for lost time.

I very much enjoyed the thread about lying to others about how we

lose weight. Briefly, my opinion is this: If someone MO is in need

of help and asks me about how I lost weight, I would certainly share

my honest story with him or her. If someone I liked and trusted

asked me and REALLY wanted to know out of genuine concern and/or

interest, I would share my honest story with him or her. Others, I

wouldn't bother with because it's not their business.

So, while I see the importance of being honest and not continuing to

help the diet industry by lying, my overall moral code tells me that

it's important to ignore, to the degree that we can, appearances

alone. For instance, and this may stir controversy, I do my best to

act and think in a color-blind, weight-blind, (you get the idea) way

because I don't give a shit if you're black, yellow, purple, fat, or

skinny, but you'd better have something INTERESTING to say. All that

other stuff gets in the way of the important stuff, like TALKING.

Anyway, I have decided to make a conscious effort to be a person of

integrity in this instance, and make certain that my actions coincide

with my thoughts/beliefs. Therefore, I'm NOT going to tell most

people about my surgery because they shouldn't be looking at or

thinking about my body a whole lot anyway!

What I need now is an explanation for the Gladys Kravitzes of

the 'hood (cuz I don't live in L.A. anymore; I'm in a little town!)

because they WILL/DO know that I've been to N.Y. to see a doctor, etc.

Please give me some ideas about lying/partially lying to these

busybodies. Ulcer surgery? Is that done anymore? Why N.Y.?

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Best,
