Watching the pounds just " melt off " has GOT to be one of the best features of this surgery, yes????? I know what you mean about how good it feels to shop and buy smaller clothes and have them actually FIT!!! I think this is the FIRST time in at LEAST fifteen years where I have been able to experience that. I have to admit, though, I still feel that kind of " dread " as I approach the clothing, but once I try on a smaller size, and it actually FITS, it's GLORIOUS!!!! >> Pam: The strange thing is I often have not even perceived it 'melting off' even though I was losing weight and inches. I've always been rather dubious that I would continue to lose weight and/or get to this point (or beyond/below? LOL). I hit a plateau and always thought 'this is it'! So, I'm LIVING PROOF to all pre-ops and post-ops that this surgery DOES work, even if the rate is 'slower' or plateaus put a kink in the weight loss... Yet, I've continued to lose weight and I'm finally here at a little over 100 lbs lost! I can't believe it! And, to shopt in the normal clothing section... get nice stuff! It's amazing. All the best, lap ds with gallbladder removal January 25, 2001 Dr. Gagner/Mt. Sinai/NYC nine months post-op and still feelin' fabu! preop: 307/bmi 45 now: 205 lbs/ -102 lbs gone - size 16!!!
