Guest guest
Hi, I am considering juicing to add some vegetable power to my smoothies and reduce the sugar content. (i've been on the diet for a month). I know these juices are pretty intense, how much do you think is good to start with - maybe 1 oz or so? Also, I'm limiting my intake of avocados and bananas and am worried about calorie intake...are there any high-calorie, low-carb vegetables or fruits that would be good in juicing form or otherwise? Haha, now that I read that again, it doesn't seem possible - low carb, high calorie...avocados are an anomaly i suppose and I guess they're medium carb..but maybe some exotic fruits/veggies that I've never heard of? Mostly, I'm excited to use spinach b/c it has good protein and i've tolerated it well in pureed form. If you could recommend any other veggies that are relatively low carb that I could juice for smoothies, that would be great. I also am confused about carrot juice - with its high sugar content, is it really helpful for controlling yeast? I suppose if you only use it once or twice a week in small amounts, its benefits would outweigh its problems? Oh and one more question - cabbage juice, is it more or less intense than probiotic supplements in causing die-off reactions? Thanks for reading, Ellen
