Guest guest
can you post some pictures? Usually not just the forehead is flat. Is her head higher than her sisters? Can you post a side view and top view (looking down). I don't think there is anything wrong with wanting her head to look " right " . Plagio is really common with twins because they are cramped in the uterus. -christine sydney, 3 yrs, starband grad > > I have a weird question, I have 4 month old identical twin girls but they look different because one was head down and one was breech. the one that was head down got her head shaped differently from being wedged in my pelvis for so long. They looked nothing alike at birth, the one that was head down had/has a longer face and her forehead looks alot flatter. She doesn't have a flat head in the back, only her forehead looks kinda flat to me.. it really really bothers me that my twins are technically identical twins because they came from the same egg, but they look so different because of their positions in the womb, am i being shallow by wanting them to look more alike? I just don't want the one with the flatter forehead to grow up being known as the twin with the weird looking head. My husband says I'm being silly, but this really bothers me, especially when people react weirdly when I tell them that my babies are identical twins, they say things like, " oh, they don't look identical, that one looks different " it bugs me alot. Has anyone ever used a helmet for a baby with issues other than having a flat head in the back???? >
Guest guest
I also think you should try to post some pictures. I can't really picture what you are talking about. What I AM picturing, is something like brachycephaly, but the flatness is in the front. Is that what it seems to be? If so, I do think a helmet could help. Is there a Cranial Technologies near you? If so, you could go in for a free consultation. Try going to their website www.cranialtech.com and see if there's a location near you. I'm not sure if other places do this as well. Maybe ask your pediatrician for a referral to another place if there is no CT near you. -
Guest guest
Yes, my DS had extremely severe brachy and plagio. He had a whole host of problems and one of them was a flat forehead, particularly on the left side, where it dropped off, rather than rounding out like the other side. He started the Doc Band at 4.5 months and I would say within 2.5 months, his forehead is rounded, looks like the other side and is normal now. He is still wearing a 2nd Band for the flatness on the back of his head but in terms of the asymetries of his ears, eye and jaw, have almost all been resovled. We received great results b/c we banded him early so I think maybe a free consultation would be a good idea and your DPT can tell you what they think. Good luck! > > I also think you should try to post some pictures. I can't really picture what you are talking about. Guest guest
I will try to get some pictures posted within the next day or so. But, yeah just her forehead is flat and the back of her head is not as round as the other's but it is not really flat, her twin's forehead is nice and rounded and she has a cute round head overall. The one with the flatter forehead does have a higher head than her sister's, her face is kind of long looking too. > > > > I have a weird question, I have 4 month old identical twin girls but they look different because one was head down and one was breech. the one that was head down got her head shaped differently from being wedged in my pelvis for so long.
