Guest guest
My son has been on the diet for 3 weeks now and I am at my wits end. I work full-time and my husband stays at home with the kids (while attempting to work). He does not like to cook nor does he have the time. I feed my kids breakfast in the morning before I go to work and fix dinner the moment I get home. My husband warms up food for lunch but that is the extent of it. We have relied in the past on canned soup, PB & J, corndogs, toquitos or leftovers for lunch. Now, due to the diet most of the easy to prepare foods are out. Also, my kids are ready for dinner the moment I get home. There is not much time to prepare food. I have no problem spending my weekends baking and freezing but do you have any ideas as to what I can get my husband to warm up during the day? Please, I need food ideas, not advise on my marriage. Guest guest
I usually give the girls PB & J sandwiches for lunch on Food For Life Rice Pecan bread. I give them bananas and potato chips (Lays). You could make their sandwiches ahead or ask your husband to make them. I sometimes give them leftovers from the night before. For dinner, I am in love with my Crock Pot...I use it at least 3 times per week. If you get that set up ahead, it will be mostly ready when you walk in the door from work. Maybe he could plug in the rice cooker right before you get home or microwave potatoes to go along. I do alot of chicken in the crock pot and pork and beef. Last night I tried chicken this way and it was good: put uncooked chicken in the pot, covered it with a small can of tomato sauce (tomato soup is NOT gfcf), dried diced onions, garlic powder (garlic salt is often not gfcf), Italian seasonings and salt and pepper. I also added basil from my garden. Then I just slow cooked it and it was great! Good luck! You will get into a rhythm with this diet...it just takes awhile.
