How many of you who " no longer need it " after surgery/weight loss are making

this determination based solely on the fact that you no longer snore or

choke/gasp at night? How do you know?

It is possible to still have sleep apnea even if you have lost weight, in

fact it is possible to have apnea without snoring. My husband has apnea and

he is not obese at all and does not snore.

I have heard many comments about being tired for months after surgery and it

is easy to blame it on lack of nutrients, recovery, etc. But please, don't

assume that you don't need your CPAP because you don't snore anymore. Let a

sleep doctor and sleep study make that determination. It would really suck

to have your newfound weight loss and energy hampered by a lingering sleep

disorder that went unchecked.

THANKS!!
