What if you are allergic to metals? Like hypo allergenic earrings etc. What

then?

Why not sutures? Because the stapler also cuts the tissue. This is a

common way to transect the stomach. As far as allergies to the metal, there

may be a mild " Foreign body reaction, " but that will go away. The staples

are Titanium, and this metal seems to be one of the best tolerated by the

body. Many orthopedic replacemnt parts aremade of Titanium.
