Guest guest
I do think some have had it airbrushed, but I remember one mom saying she did not recommend it, because it all started to chip right away and was a waste of time and money. I worry about a couple of things with airbrushing...how safe is the paint they use (especially if it's a motorcycle helmet place)? Also, it's important not to get paint on the foam inside, so they'd have to be super careful. They'd also have to keep it overnight probably, and with the DOCBand expecially, where you're wearing it almost full time from day one, that's a lot of non-wearing time (STARBand wearers don't wear it to sleep in for a few days, so might be able to get away with it). Plus, for me, when a paint job usually only lasted about 3 weeks, it would have been a waste of money. The acrylic paint at 's is usually on sale, 3 for a dollar. I painted ours the first day during his one-hour break. I learned quickly that it's important to get paint, stickers and mod podge on all at one time. If you just paint first (like I did the first time), it peels the minute their head hits the mattress. It has to be sealed in with the mod podge before they can actively wear it. Hope that helps!
