Guest guest
Everybody-- I finally got switched on 10/3 and want to thank my wonderful angel, Terri Hassiak, for her supportive phone calls the night of my surgery and daily thereafter. My DS was performed at Mt. Sinai in NYC by Dr. Pomp. I spent the week before cleaning my apt. and trying to stock up on some post op needs. The morning of surgery, I left the house with my little wheeled suitcase at about 6:15 AM, dressed in my caftan and sweater. I thought that I was calm, cool and collected. I told myself that, as an RN and a responsible adult, I had made an intelligent, well researched decision which would improve my life. While on the little red bus to the tram, I noticed that my caftan kept cutting into my neck. I tried to re-arrange it, but no luck. I couldn't figure out why this was happening as I had worn this caftan before and hadn't had any problems. Just as I got off the bus to get onto the tram I realised what the problem was--I HAD THE CAFTAN ON BACKWARDS!!!! So much for calm, cool and collected! So, pre-op DSers, when you make out a pre-op check list for yourself, be sure to include " Check position of clothing! " Ashford DS/Mt. Sinai, NYC/Dr. Pomp 304 lbs. pre-op and still to puffy to bother getting on the scale.
