LOL We've discussed this car seat thing several times, so you might want to check the archives for more opinions, but I think the general consensus has been to keep you child rear-facing until they are either very close to, or over 20# AND have excellent head control. It's also been mentioned that our kids should be moved from an infant seat, into a convertable car seat (one that faces both rear and forward) when their legs are long enough to push hard against the back of the seat.
