I have IBS and am also worried about my BM's being worse post op (I will be

post op in 5 weeks). Eating the wrong thing combined with stress is the

trigger for me. I personally feel that I will be placing less stess on

myself if I loss a substancial amount of weight. My IBS can become

debilitation and makes me more inclinded to cut myself off from the outside

world in fear. I can only hope and pray that no matter what happens post

op, that we are all taking the right step forward and putting our trust in

God, crossing our fingers and hope that the worst is over in 6 months time.

I can put up with 6 months of hell for a future lifetime of running around

and playing with my son in the back yard, just being a normal sized Mum who

no one looks twice at.

But really that didnt aswer any of your questions did it, but hey at least

you know your not alone. When are you set for surgery?

Subject: The delicate questions continue

Hi all- Since this seems the week for delicate or sensitive

questions, I figure I would chime in with my own

delicate/sensitive/kinda icky question. I am pre-op and in the past

few years I have had frequent diarrhea (not all the time or even

consistantly just more often then a lot of people I think). I tend

to think it is stress related because my job is highly stressful and

none of the doctors I have seen (PCP and Obgyn) see anything abnormal

in my blood work etc. But I just got to thinking...if I am prone to

diarrhea now, before surgery, do you think I will be in for a world

of nastiness, with excessive diarrhea after I have surgery? Has

anyone who is post-op been in a similar situation before surgery and

what were you like after surgery?

Take care,
