Summary

Here is a picture that my 4 year old son drew. Let me give you a little

background on my son. He had a complicated birth. He was small for Gestational

age, basically stopped growing before birth and had to be induced at 33 weeks

gestation. I was in the hospital for 5 weeks before he was born, to monitor his

growth and be there in case of an emergency. He was in the NICU for 8 days

following his birth. As he got older his growth has not caught up, therefore he

is short stature, with a condition called RSS ( Silver Syndrome) and

receives Growth Hormone Therapy. Growth Hormone & nbsp;is a & nbsp;shot EVERY night.

He also has epilepsy and hypothyroid and is hearing impaired. He goes to a

special needs pre-K where he recieves OT and PT. & nbsp;He needs therapy (OT and

PT) outside of school as well?..

& nbsp;

My reason, for auctioning one of his drawings is: & nbsp; We are a one income

family with 2 childern. I am disabled and can not work outside the home. I am

taking online courses with the hope of being able to make some money to help out

financially in the future, by working from home. I am very worried about being

able to afford all his medical bills. He is on 3 different medications and see?s

specialist's 1 to 3 times a month. We do have insurance, but HIGH co payments.

He needs private therapy (OT and PT) as well, & nbsp;but

& nbsp;1) We can not afford the co-pays, for the therapy, on top of all our other

monthly expenses. & nbsp;

& nbsp;2) We are a one car family and with my husband's changing hours it is not

always possible for me to drive him to work.

& nbsp;

Well, my little boy must have over heard me on the phone with my friend when I

was speaking about my worries, which & nbsp;I have lots of. & nbsp; That same night

as I was talking to my friend, he was drawing at the table. He came to me with

the picture and said ?Here, mommy sell this? I was taken aback and said " why??

He said " So you can get money for my doctors and a car to take me. "

& nbsp;

Of course I almost cried. I mean my husband and I may worry about these things,

but I really don't want to burden him with all of this. He is only 4. He has

enough on his plate, and is a smart happy little boy despite it all.

& nbsp;

I thought and thought about what he said and decided to try E-bay. I mean I

think his drawings are wonderful, so maybe someone else might too. If it helps

us help him than what do we have to loose?

& nbsp;

Okay,now you have made me cry. I see that there are two bids. If I

knew how to bid, I would do it, too. If you do see me bid, however,

and I will figure it out tomorrow with my classroom aide, and I win,

please keep the picture for him. Tell him that someone bought it and

then put it away somewhere. When he is older, you should show him the

picture and tell him the story.
