Run to the light!!!! oohhh that's the wrong thing....

Hi All,

Just wanted to post now that I'm on the Lighter Side! :) I had my DS

surgery with Dr. Herron at Mt. Sinai on Friday, 10/26 and came home

the following Tuesday. Thank God is all I can say about getting out

of Mt. Sinai that quickly.

I'm doing very well. I had to have staples since my incision was much

larger than expected due to finding a huge ovarian cyst during my

surgery. Dr. Herron is a trooper! He called in one of Mt. Sinai's

GYN's and continued with my procedure while the other doc took out

the 10 lb cyst that I've affectionately named, Sid. It was benign and

they were able to preserve my ovary. :) I definitely went to the

right surgeon and hospital for the surgery.

Last Thursday I had my staples removed and was weighed, and to my

shocked delight had lost 39 lbs! I have to go again this week since

my incision needs some attention. It's been draining alot and has

opened some at the top. The incision itself is about 20 inches long

or so. A small price to pay for what will be a life saver. Finding

the cyst and having that removed without incident is more than enough

reason to have had this surgery.

I can't wait to progress to the final stage diet. I'm tired of soft

foods! Ughhhh I've been good and have been eating only until I'm

full. Both and Dr. Herron were surprised that I haven't thrown

up. Well, when enough post ops told me to listen to my stomach and

NOT each that LAST BITE, I listened! I don't want to throw up and

have to clean it up too! Oooohh I know, what a word picture. :)

Anyway, I'm happy to be on the other side, and look forward to

getting back to my normal routine. I'm tired of tv! Even if it is

foodtv! BAM!
