friend with undigested food in stool - what could it be?

Hello everyone,my friend has come to me with some symptoms for help. he says he usually has undigested food in his stool, and has for a very long time (years). He does not get D, or stomach pain, or bloating. He also says sometimes stuff goes right through him, as soon as 4 hours.

I was wondering if anyone could give us any tips or clues on what could be going on with him?He also says that he has never been able to gain much weight, no matter what or how much he eats. He is very, very thin and has always been so.

He also told me that many months ago he had a bad sore throat, gave up eventually and took antibiotics for it. However, it did not completely go away, and now he has a perpetual throat problem, that also seems to prevent him from properly " hocking " or clearing mucus. I think this might be somehow related, I'm not sure.

I hoping to get as much information as I can about what might exactly be going on with him in order to help him figure out how to best treat it.Thanks a lot guys!!
