Guest guest
Hi all, This a.m. I heard about Bone Soup. I thought ick! Some of you probably know about this, but here goes. After you eat the lovely meat off of a chicken put all the bones in a pot with water, onions if desired or whatever. The clue is to take 1/2 lemon and squeeze all the juice in then throw the lemon skin in and simmer forever. The lemon leeches all the calcium from the bones. I believe it is calcium citrate form. Then you can use the broth for all sorts of soup bases and get extra really absorbable calcium too. It should get really thick and concentrated. If you are before DS you can cool the broth and skim off the fat from the top to reduce the fat. i
