Guest guest
From what I gather the clonidine and argenine test basically do the same thing just two different chemicals. B/c that sounds basically the same as what they did with aubrey when they did the argenine test. that's interesting Jodie wrote:laura and jennifer, jennifer i will explain it better by phone but what they do is they give they the clonidine to make them sleepy and then they will take blood every hour for 3 hours. they are checking to see how well her body makes growth hormone!! and since you make your most when you are asleep they are tricken her body by putting her to sleep. christopher couldnt have anything to eat i believe it was after 12am and then he could have only clear liquids up until 3 hrs before i think?!?! they will let you know when you set up the appt for the test. christopher also had the arginine stimulation test at the same time. i had they monitor his BS too!! they checked it each time they took the blood for the other samples. they will put in a i think it was a shunt in her arm so they dont have to stick her over and over again. christopher's BS dropped to 40 but that was during the last hour of the test. so they ordered him a tray and had it ready so as soon as the test was over he could eat and bring it back up. if they would have done anything before that the test would have been ruined they said. he did really well, they just go to sleep. he sat on terry's lap and then mine. he failed the test they said and was there for able to put on the ght. usaully i know that dr h doesnt recommend the test because it is no longer needed for rss kids to start ght, but she is probably doing it to ashley to try and get a better understaning of what is up!! christopher makes growth hormone but just not enough to make him grow!! like i said iw ill explain it better to you on the phone tomorrow!! jodie c ---------------------------------
Guest guest
hey toyna yes, he had both tests at the same time. so that is exactly what happened as you said in your post, except we were only there 3hrs. they said the force the body into like a painic state by dropping the BS and this makes your body make growth hormone. jodie c laura and jennifer, > jennifer i will explain it better by phone but what they do is they > give they the clonidine to make them sleepy and then they will take > blood every hour for 3 hours. they are checking to see how well her > body makes growth hormone!! and since you make your most when you are > asleep they are tricken her body by putting her to sleep. > > christopher couldnt have anything to eat i believe it was after 12am > and then he could have only clear liquids up until 3 hrs before i > think?!?! they will let you know when you set up the appt for the > test. christopher also had the arginine stimulation test at the same > time. i had they monitor his BS too!! they checked it each time they > took the blood for the other samples. they will put in a i think it > was a shunt in her arm so they dont have to stick her over and over > again. christopher's BS dropped to 40 but that was during the last > hour of the test. so they ordered him a tray and had it ready so as > soon as the test was over he could eat and bring it back up. if they > would have done anything before that the test would have been ruined > they said. > > he did really well, they just go to sleep. he sat on terry's lap and > then mine. he failed the test they said and was there for able to put > on the ght. usaully i know that dr h doesnt recommend the test because > it is no longer needed for rss kids to start ght, but she is probably > doing it to ashley to try and get a better understaning of what is > up!! christopher makes growth hormone but just not enough to make him > grow!! like i said iw ill explain it better to you on the phone > tomorrow!! > > jodie c > > > > > > > --------------------------------- >
