Guest guest
hi everyone i am new here. My son jack is 6 months old and has congenital tortocollis and saw a nuerosurgeon on aug 4th and he agreed that yes he needed a helmet wrote a script and put all the info neces. and sent us on to hager place(they scanned him for helmet on august 6th. I got a call today from hager and they said that cigna wrote back to them in fax that they denied the claim due to inadequate info. and that they would be sending me a letter in mail stating the denial. something about they want pictures and measurements from the doctor. And now i cant get ahold of docs medical assistant. and i know doc is on vacation. I just feel stuck. Kinda in limbo cause i guess cigna was dragging there feet after the scan and stated they couldnt get ahold of the doctor etc etc. and now they are denying it for lack of pictures and measurements. they said i can appeal it and that doc can do a peer to peer with their medical director does anyone have any advice for me? Thanks Mom to Jack
Guest guest
Hi I am almost in the same spot with you. I also have cigna and they just denied my claim also. I was told I should get a letter in the mail with the denial and it would tell me how to file and appeal. I am still waiting on the letter. That is horrible that they denied you because of the lack of measurements. Can you call the doctors answering service? Or is there a doctor on call that you can speak to? This is too important for them to ignore. That is wonderful they will let your sons neuro do a doc to doc. Maybe i need to contact my son's neuro and see if she can help me out too. Good luck! > > hi everyone i am new here. > My son jack is 6 months old and has congenital tortocollis and saw a nuerosurgeon on aug 4th and he agreed that yes he needed a helmet wrote a script and put all the info neces. and sent us on to hager place(they scanned him for helmet on august 6th. Guest guest
If there is a Cranial Technologies location near you, go see them. They do free evaluations including a photostudy. You do not need a script for that. Give that info to your ped or to the insurance and that should satisfy their requirement.
