It is finally getting cooler here in Texas. There are a couple of things

that I love when it gets cooler. I love to make a pot of chili. I love

to bake anything chocolate, and I love to drink hot chocolate. Boy do I

want to do all three right now.

My problem with soup is that I can eat a lot of it...I mean A LOT!

Right from the very beginning I was told (can't remember who) that we

shouldn't eat soup. I think it was sort of like the -drinking while

eating- kind of issue. Has anybody else heard this?

Well, I think a lot depends on what KIND of soup. I do remember way back

being told if we were going to eat soup with a meal, to be sure and eat it

first,

not along with, anything else. So in that respect, I'd say yeah, it's kinda

like drinking while eating. But I make a MEAL out of a bowl of soup, and

typically I make it from scratch with lots and lots of fresh veggies and spices,

so

if I eat a whole bowl (which I have NO trouble doing -- no stoma to speak of

anymore) I figure at least I'm not getting a whole lot of calories with all

those veggies.

Barbara,

Her name is ita, and I do not think we have heard from her yet.

She was due for surgery Monday. Tomorrow will be a week.

Now it is my turn. I know Kim and another lady had the GBS on the

same day, and we haven't heard from the other lady - I cannot

remember HER name! Janet

Barbara & Janet,

Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts. I went ahead and

responded to everyone regarding my condition. I am doing better.

Keep in touch and God Bless you both!

The lady that had surgery the same day as me was Gail, and I am

anxiously waiting to hear how she is doing.

That is Gayle I believe. And no we have not heard from her yet. But hopefully

she is like me and is on email at work and hasn't returned yet.

Dyanne- your soup sounds so wonderful I will try to make it vegetarian...I will do as Pink says and use Baco's and I will try putting nutritional yeast in and see if I can get the cheese flavor! it may not be the really best like yours but maybe it will be sort of delicious! Joyce Rudy Az birds
