Problem: No marshmallows or hotdogs for our 10 yr old... Any suggestions to help her have a fun eating time?? Hadassah, Of course she can have hot dogs! I'll post my recipe for them. Do you keep kosher? I call for collagen casings, and I'm not sure of their status, kosherwise. My recipe also calls for a bit of yogurt in the meat, but you can actually just leave that out. And you can use the pecan souffle bread to make bun-wraps for the hot dogs! I'll have to dig around -- I know there's a recipe for SCD marshmallows somewhere. I also have a recipe for pecan flour graham crackers -- you could make those, and put an SCD marshmallow and a date which is pitted and mashed flat instead of the chocolate for s'mores. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
Guest guest
Hi, this is Cathy and I'm new the the site. I've been SCD since January and even though it's incredibly tough, the results have made me determined to stick to it. Anyway...I am incredibly busy like so many of us, and keep trying to find pre-packaged foods I can eat. Haven't been too successful on this endeavor, but I did see a post on Comfy Tummy once talking about Applegate Farms hot dogs being OK. I've tried them myself and so far they've been great. Comfy Tummy said you can find the hot dogs at Trader Joe's, but I haven't seen them at either of my local stores. I had to go to 's (which I think might be a local chain here). I bet you can order them on line if you can't find a local store. They're a bit pricy for hot dogs, but I just buy regular dogs for the family and the Applegate for me. I can't make it through a whole package, so I lay them on a tray in the freezer (so they don't freeze all stuck together). Once frozen, pop them into a bag. Not only can I be part of a barbecue, but they are one of the very easy foods you can keep on hand and pop into the toaster oven for a quick bite. > > We have a traditional yearly bonfire that all the kids LOVE to attend. Guest guest
I thought Applegate Farms had a legal hot dog... > > > > We have a traditional yearly bonfire that all the kids LOVE to attend. Applegate will not confirm the sources of its spices, and we don't know if there is added " stuff. " Some people say they can use these; some say they have an immediate reaction. Some discover, after using the Applegate hot dogs, that when they eliminate them, they sudden have much better healing. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
