Guest guest
I don't think so. I've drank over a gallon of water a day pretty consistently for the last 10 years or so. I had my first flare in 08. When I flared, it even hurt to drink water. Exercise is good no matter what you're doing. If you're able to exercise while on SCD, that would definitely be a good thing. Guest guest
Water and exercise is great. Some may have to take it slow when you start SCD especially if you are anemic or underweight already. Like Mara said, there's just not enough energy to go around. You may want to have more control over your symptoms too before you start a hard-core exercise routine ;-). (ha ha, my brother thinks exercise, no fat will cure everything right? He had me doing push-ups and sit-ups one Christmas. I went down to do a push-up and my lower back locked up. Could not get up. I was all set to show him too. --Was funnier at the time. But start slowly lol.) For weight loss, you drink water before you eat to fill you up. I'd do the reverse for this diet, eat something then drink your water. I don't think so. I've drank over a gallon of water a day pretty consistently for the last 10 years or so. Guest guest
Drinking 8+ glasses of water a day plus regular mild exercise is important for good health, whether you're on SCD or not. Staying hydrated is especially important when dealing with GI issues. Mild exercise is helpful but it also depends on the state of your health at the time. If you're anemic or have been dealing with chronic symptoms for a while, then you probably shouldn't push your body to handle mild exercise every day, and definitely don't want to be doing strenuous exercise. But one or two times a week of mild exercise always helps the body, and helps the GI -- but only when you are feeling up to it. Kim M. Guest guest
I haven't been exercising, but I really want to take it slow. Even pre-SCD I was having really bad issues when I'd exercise (my stomach problems would flare and get worse, and I's start having " panic " symptoms outside of exercise when I'd start to become " fearful " for no good reason, so I discontinued exercising. I now attribute that to the " baddies " in my gut, mainly -- since I didn't know that the toxins they produce could also impact your mental/psychological state. I might wait a few weeks -- until I'm experiencing less symptoms/am symptom free, before starting exercise. > > > > I've wanted to know this -- does drinking water (six to eight glasses a day) help with the diet?
