Happy Birthday Marilyn! Thanks so much for everything you do.

Your birthday's the day after my sister's!

But even if it's not your birthday, thank you SO much for all you do

on this list. I don't know where we would all be without you. You're

really changing the lives of so many people by dedicating your time on

here, and I for one really appreciate it.

Helping people help themselves is what SCD is all about!

Yes, it is my birthday!

We had a really neat party on Saturday, because a good friend of mine's

birthday is the 15th, and we often celebrate on the 16th for both of us.

I got to see friends I haven't seen in almost a year. We had about 23

people there.

I baked an apple pecan cake, and made honey-vanilla topping. And I

still have some left for today!

Yesterday, my Dad took us out for steaks at the Beef Connection.

Now I just have to figure out where to go this evening!

Hey, I think the thing I love the most is seeing someone become confident

enough, and well enough, to help others!

And I love the " I'm getting better! " reports.

It's a lovely day here in New Orleans..... and Harry didn't have to leave

for Virginia today, so we can spend it together. Well, after he gets home

from work.

As I recall, you were deciding

Satin, I think, and Cherry-pecan cake for your birthday.

So, did you do both? Hope you had a stupendous meal and really

enjoyed your day. Hope you feel appreciated and enjoyed yourself.

I wasn't able to find the cherries I wanted, so I made the cake with

Granny apples, instead. Still delicious. I decided to skip the

butter pecan satin... this time.

Yesterday, my Dad took us to the Beef Connection; tonight, we went to

Don't Seafood, and I had broiled shrimps in garlic butter.

It's been a good birthday!

And the best thing all of us can do is to pay forward -- I can never

repay Elaine or my mentors, but I can teach others. And they, in turn,

can teach still others. And maybe, just maybe, one day, doctors won't

scoff at the idea that diet has anything to do with our gut

issues.

It's been a good day! My feet are currently wrapped in fur-children.

You're a treasure. Thank you so much for the gift you have given me, the

tools to get my life back.

Yes, another year -- NINE years SCD... and no real desire to go back to

eating anything else.

That's the goal of the list -- not to DO things for you, but to teach you

how to do things for yourself. To, as you say, give you the tools

to get your life back. <wry grin> I sure wish I'd had access

to SCD around THIRTY years ago!

Thanks for all the hard work you put into this list. We all appreciate it

LOL -- and it's taking me three days to reply!

We were having an on-line " house party " in the writers' forum

where I hang out. One person selects a date and a location, and everyone

selects one or more characters from their current Work In Progress and

brings them (via a magick fog) to that location to interact. This

time, it was London, September, 1940, the height of the Blitz, and we

had, mmm... a couple from 1841 New Zealand, King II and escort, a

trio from 2010, a ghost, a ish vampire (who was one of the bad

guys), a magicker, her twin sister who was also a vampire (but one of the

good guys), a saint, and a demon. Really whacko, but quite a bit of

fun.

The lady who was our hostess (since she's writing in that time period)

had forgotten she had something 6 or 8 First Birthday Parties in her

daughter's play group when she scheduled it, and has been losing her

mind.
