Guest guest
Elaine was speaking about prescribed drugs there, not OTC stuff. In a work crisis, say, I would use it, but immodium is not meant for everyday usage, as far as my understanding goes. And if youuse it regularly on SCD, it will most likely impact your healing. Guest guest
My D is bad everyday as well as the cramping when i need to go, My blood tests showed my crp (inflamation levels) were high so therefore the reason i got bad D but i think id be a lot worse if i wasnt doing scd. Im on week 3 of scd and havent touched immodium as i kinda thought there'd be ilegals, but i have had to take buscopan for pain the odd day. If only there was something scd legal that would help my D id be happy but its really depressing me, cant leave the house and have my sisters wedding to go to in 2 weeks which im statrting to think i may not be able to go to unless this clears up, im on prednisilone a month and it hasnt helped the D only my appetite and i started LDN 2 weeks ago also. Chrons really does p**s me off at times like this... Mark To: BTVC-SCD Sent: Mon, May 17, 2010 10:04:26 PMSubject: Re: medications with illegals. I think this is where we make choices with over the counter medications. There is little negotiation with prescription meds. It would be pretty bad if we all threw out GI meds, thyroid meds, antidepressants etc.. if we needed to take them- because of illegals. With OTC meds we do have a choice. I would rather find something like Tylenol without illegals or not take it at all. Can you manage your symptoms without Immodium?OTC meds are often negotiable. Prescription meds are mostly not. There are some OTC meds without illegals that are best for people on SCD. In this area we have to make good choices and weigh the benefits of the medication against the drawbacks of the illegals in it. There are sometimes posts about people reacting to the illegals in OTC medications. I would avoid them as much as possible. With the D, I would try being on SCD intro and stage one rather than Immodium to see if that helps. Is there an SCD legal substitute for Immodium? If you really need it frequently- I would consider getting it compounded without illegals, just like we seek out vitamins and supplements without illegals. Some people find legal calcium and the DCCC to be good legal "binders".The ideal option is strict adherence to SCD and no illegals.PJ> >> > Hi friends> > I've asked this question before, and didn't recieve any answer (that I'm aware of)> > I've been on the SCD diet for several months now, and have seen marked results. Guest guest
I wouldn't miss the wedding over immodium. If it helps, take it. DCCC is good. Chicken soup is great. I kept a pot in the fridge the first year or so. It's a great go-to food. Hamburger patties, maybe a pot roast and easy to thaw fish fillets to broil. Zucchini, yellow squash, carrots, some do well on pumpkin, the scd cheesecake. Gelatin and bone stock is really good for you--add a cap of apple cider vinegar to leach the minerals out as it cooks. I take Pentasa and LDN. LDN regularly, Pentasa is I get in a bad spot (thank goodness for it). Getting out will be really good for you. I hope you enjoy your sister's wedding. Debbie 41 cd TX scd 12/05--trying SAD foods but ending up back SCD ldn 3/10 Have you tried legal calcium citrate and the dry curd cottage cheese? I would be trying lots of healthy bone broth soups and eating easy to digest foods.Hopefully things will improve by the wedding. But that is a one time in a million occasion which you should enjoy and be part of. I think every one here would agree to doing what you need to do to get through that day... even living on soup for a day or two before!! So please everyone chime in with suggestions to get through this wedding PJ> > >> > > Hi friends> > > I've asked this question before, and didn't recieve any answer (that I'm aware of) > > > I've been on the SCD diet for several months now, and have seen marked results. Guest guest
Im on a freeda scd legal calcium vitamin thats all, I havent heard of calcium citrate??, As for dccc i cant get that in ireland but i did by a "Donvier" yogurt chhese maker which strains the yogurt and turns it into a cheese spread so dont know if this substitutes dccc or not? I have the chicken soup every day for lunch, eggs in the morning, have a yogurt, bananna and honey smoothie each day too and as for meats i differ each day with roast or boiled chicken with purred carrrots, salmon, burger and turkey patties with cheese spread i make topped with chedder cheese and a cooked tomatoe aswell as sandwich bread i use as buns (contains almound flour). I juice my own grapes and apples and dilute with half water, i make ginger tea everyday. I did make cinnamonn cookies once which would of also had almound flour so maybe i should cut that out. Thanks Mark To: BTVC-SCD Sent: Tue, May 18, 2010 1:14:59 AMSubject: Re: medications with illegals. Have you tried legal calcium citrate and the dry curd cottage cheese?
