I do hope Lee Anne hasn't left for good since she hasn't posted since she received all the bashing when she posted about Pattersen no longer doing the DS. I emailed her personally and Told her what happened to me and that I still opted for the DS and Ren agreed to do it. I remember the dread I felt when Dr. Ren told me she was going to stop doing the DS, all I could think about was not another road block but when I said I still wanted the DS Dr. Ren said it was my option. What a relief. Leeanne wrote back to me yesturday and said that she was going to speak with and tell her that she wanted the BPD/DS since that is the reason she came to see her in the first place. I really hope that Pattersen understands where she is coming from and does give her the Bpd/DS as she planned today Oct. 22. She had a different situation then most, When she scheduled her consult she schedualed surgery for 3 days after her consult. SO please include her in your prayers as she may already be in recovery. ===== B 36yrs Pre-op 11-13-01 Wt.308 BMI 49 BCBS of MI Blue Choice POS __________________________________________________

I As with any good family we squabble...but if you ask anything, you'll get tons of advice. Guest guest
My understanding is that both the good doctors were fellows together with Dr. Gagner in New York. I don't think that it is unreasonable to assume that since both their practices have taken the same turn, that they network " phrases " and shared philosophies. Then again, I am not so sure about this world being round stuff...so who knows? Theresa P.S. I do feel its setting back bariatric surgery 20 years, but that is my humble opinion! > > > , > > You're right. But neither has Dr. Ren. Guest guest
, Thanks for reinforcing that statement. When I read some responses, I equate it to having a dinner guest who complains about the choice of entree, the other guests, smoke in the room, and lack of vegetarian dishes! Laughing. I find so much value here from EVERYONE especially those I disagree with. They, more than anyone teach me to question my opinions, be clear on my intentions, and sometimes have made me shift my position completely. I don't want nice...I want real. Everyone has a different perspective, thank the good lord! Please everyone, keep posting, even if you step on my toes...I am a big girl...literally and figuratively, and I can take it. It is this diversity that makes this a fantastic site! Mazel Tov, Theresa > Carol, I'm sorry that you signed on at a time when a debate was going on > that wasn't 100% comfortable for you. Guest guest
Hi Doris, I am 57, weigh 360 with a BMI of 56.4. I know I would have continued to lurk and kept quiet if I hadn't felt so desperate to research DS and the main site was down. With only a week between appts. and having to decide which surgery I wanted by tomorrow (I hadn't researched anything but RNY), I was a tad grumpy! My doctor is Dr. WM. s in Scranton, PA. He is great! There is no sugar coating. You are told every pro and con and he spends as much time with you, as necessary, until every question is answered. Then he makes you come back for a second appt., tells you to research everything before you go back so you are both sure you understand. So much different from the first doctor I saw. He even gives a written test. I'm told he is there for his patients 24/7. He answers all his emails and makes all his own phone calls to check on you. A very rare doctor, I think. I don't think I will have too much problem with the insurance so hope to have surgery before the end of the year. As far as the group goes, from now on I will ask questions, not expect the answers to magically appear. Thank you!
