I'm not sure if I shared his

diagnosis or not. He was diagnosed with UC back in 2006. He was treated

with antibiotics and steroids and recovered mostly until recently. He has

lost a lot of weight and is so tired. I started doing research when he

told me he was flaring and found out about SCD. I put our whole family on

it about 5 weeks ago. I'm not sure how long he's been taking the Immodium

because he wasn't feeling well for a while before he even told me what

was going on. I think he has been taking it this whole time now, though,

and can't imagine how much of that crap he has put in his body. I've been

making the yogurt faithfully, but I don't think he's been eating it. I

hate to make him sound like a stubborn jerk, but that's how he has been

acting. I don't pretend to understand what he's going through. It's not

like him to have a bad attitude about anything.

You might check the so-called " inactive ingredients " in the

Immodium. I got done-to royally by the pain meds for my cancer surgery,

which I failed to check (checked everything else -- didn't check

that!). It was (great gak!) formulated with lactose... and I can

tell you that scrambling out of bed with a 24 " incision across your

gut while having wild squirts is NOT entertaining.

It might be a little advanced, but check out t's vegetable

lasagna:

I usually add a pound of browned ground round to the sauce. Oh, and of

course I hadd extra provolone, but I'm a cheeseoholic.

This is a superlative lasagna, and I can tell you that you can hardly

tell it has no pasta.

If you have a dehydrator, dry the zucchini slices in it before putting

them in the lasagna -- they will then soak up liquid out of your sauce

and make it thicker, while flavoring the noodles.

What are some of his favorite Italian dishes? Let's see if we can't

SCD-ize them.
