Guest guest
Thanks for your kind words. I had a super time in Washington, I got to meet worth (air family member), she only lives about 5 miles from my old home at Mason Lake. She is a very nice lady and seems to be a very quick study as far as dealing with this disease and understanding the medical terminology, she is a great asset to our board. I did make some calls to Joy Noel and Kathy in Tacoma but didn't make any contact with them and I forgot to get Walts email address (sorry Walt --Next time) I didn't think about taking a list of people to see on the way i.e= Nevada, Utah and Idaho so maybe next time I will do that. When I was in Olympia staying with my son, we discovered that 15 miles out of town there is a Indian Casino that has the BEST seafood buffet that I have eaten at, so needless to say I reaquired my lost appetite and stuffed myself, once wasn't enough, we went a total of 5 times in 3 weeks, I did gain back about 6 pounds (it was worth it), but I am working at losing it again. I was going to call you on my way back through, but you were right in the middle of starting your move and the heat was around 90-95 (miserable) so I decided to go over to Eastern Washington and visit my wifes cousin, he has a winery (Goose-Ridge Winery) and I have not had the time to go see him---so I thought I would do that. I was suprised at how big and beautiful it is---and the wine is good. I feel O.K. health wise, just loosing alittle ground but nothing that is slowing me down yet. I think I am just taking a little mental break and stick my head in the sand for a while, I think its called "denial." It feels good just to ignore this disease for a little bit, it gives me a break from the stress. It sounds like you are in a very nice place, being so close to the girls and G'-kids? How far are you from the Columbia River Bridge or the 205? Hope everything is O.K. with both you and Rich, that moving is hard work!! The End G. Guest guest
... Next time you plan a trip our way give us a heads up a little sooner so we can make arrangements. We are actually farther from 205 and the river now but the roads go wherever we need to go! We are now in the Beaverton area. Sorry you missed Joy/Kathie too. They are both nice gals. Yes, it is nice being closer to Lysa and her family. She is already worth her weight in gold and now she stops by regularly. G/kids like to come over too. Hannah has slept over 2 nights already. lol. She is now 18, but still loves to spend time with us. How lucky we are. Heck , if you need some time with your head in the sand , oh well... we all need that but of course we hope you do feel better soon. Food at the Casino's is always good. There is a casino between here and the beach that has good food too. Glad your appetite has surfaced! I'm glad I spotted this email. Since I'm on less time and posts pile up I tend to scan quickly. Thanks for putting my name in the subject. Here's hoping we meet next time. Hugs and hello from Rich. MamaSher; 71, IPF 3-2006, OR.Don't fret about tomorrow, God is already there! But you know, it seems that there should be some kind of assistance for folks in this situation. I mean, how in hell are you supposed to meet his needs and yours??? No driving for a year? NO lifting over 5 lbs??? Our healthcare issues in this country make me so mad sometimes I could just scream. I know you have strength beyond belief both physically and mentally, but I just worry about the toll this may take. I'm taking some deep breaths now..I know you will do what you can. Roxanne, 59, South Carolina2006 Asthma/ PF2008 PF/ Sarcoidosis/ GerdI pray you enough..... From: Sher Bauman <bofus6 (AT) verizon (DOT) net>Subject: Re: Re: sher>MayTo: Breathe-Support@ yahoogroups. comDate: Saturday, October 24, 2009, 1:52 PM Bruce... how in the heck do you know about Rich's surgery?? You must be on the board w/Ze and May... Yes, surgery on Nov. 3rd. I'm extremely apprehensive about meeting his needs as well as he has meant mine all these years. My caregiver now needs a caregiver. According to the paper work he was given, no driving for a year! Possibility of fainting and/or dizziness and other things. Don't lift more than 5#. However long it takes him to recover sufficiently, shopping that he currently does and errands and etc he may not do for awhile... It's lucky we are here close to Lysa but she can't be a caregiver full time either. Our lives are certainly going to change. We don't know yet how we will handle the changes but we will and yes I'll sure keep ya posted. MamaSher; 71, IPF 3-2006, OR.Don't fret about tomorrow, God is already there! Guest guest
...I will tell Rich you send him prayers! He will appreciate that. He was sorry we didn't connect last time. Surgery has been set for Nov. 3. Now that he made up his mind for a 'go' he is anxious to get it done. It could mean no driving for up to a year, watching for fainting or dizziness...that will be a little tough. My meds cause me a little light head but we'll manage. There are 3 drivers at 's. Take care and I hope you've been getting 'out' more. Hugs to you and Dakota. MamaSher; 71, IPF 3-2006, OR.Don't fret about tomorrow, God is already there! Sher Tell Rich I'll be praying for him!!! Wish I could have seen him when I was up last time, so I will definitely give him and you more notice next time. Good luck and please keep us posted. G. UIP/IPF 5/07 AZ. Guest guest
Jack... I've already told Rich that you are and will be thinking/praying for him. I'm so sorry to hear this news about your granddaughter. These "grands" are just about like our own kids aren't they. I'll be sending prayers your way too. Big loving hugs!
