Guest guest
Hi , Forgive me, but I don't think I have seen you post before. We have a lot in common. was also a 28 weeker, but he weighed only 440 grams. From all the stats I have seen on the listserve, I believe he was one of the smallest RSS babies born. He is 11 now & weighs 49 lbs. & is 51 " tall. He has kyphosis & scoliosis, and has been wearing a back brace since 7/2004. How long has been wearing a brace? Is it helping? The last time we went to the orthopedic doctor, 's kyphosis hadn't changed, but the scoliosis did. I think he will need to have surgery when he is done growing, but his doctor is concerned about the seriousness of the surgery for a child with all his medical issues. 's kyphosis (c-curve) was always obvious even with clothes on, but I didn't know he also had scoliosis until he was evaluated by the orthopedic doctor. Now I can also see the scoliosis in his back when he has no shirt on.
