We've been on the diet for 2 months with slow but steady gains. We started

kirkmans calcium with D powder first in some tapioca cookies then last night

we put them in our sons scrambled eggs and today he is " out of it " no focus

singsong noises all day.....could it be the chocolate flavoring in the sup.?

it has no sugar and we have eliminated sugar except natural.....am i a

complete airhead? is there something in chocolate flavoring that could cause

a reaction even if there is no sugar? also he does have a head cold could

this be a factor....i haven't given him any cold med...not sure what to use?

can't have a sugar base..thanks for reading this!!!any suggestions? thanks!

Janelle, yes it is definately kirkmans, it lists: other inged.: sorbitol,

sucralose, and natural chocolate flavoring. I'm pretty certain when i

ordered it the choc. was not listed...i have my son off choc. because of the

sug. and caf. but i guess the flavoring itself has mold and yeast? I'm

gonna call them and see what's up maybe i can switch it for the kind you

have. thanks!

Sharon,

I am confused. I use the Kirkman's Cal with Vit D and looked at the

lable again after reading your post. It only contains the mineral.

What flavorings? Is it the Kirkman's?

-Hmmm I am using their calcium with vit D too and didn't even notice

it had choc flavoring! I went and checked and sure enough. Luckily,

my daughter doesn't seem to have a bad reaction to limited amounts of

chocolate but I'm shocked because I had no idea it was in there.

Guess you can't trust anyplace blindly.

What are you two talking about! You are making me think I am getting

crazier than I already am! :-) I use the powder in a 12 oz " tub " for

$20. It only has calcium and D. You know what, I JUST thought of

something....I ordered from the hypoallergenic line, maybe that's the

difference. Ok, I can relax now. One drawback is that it doesn't

taste good, remains undisolved in liquid.

--The choc flav stuff doesn't dissolve either-my daughter literally

gagged when I tried giving it to her and she's great about other

supplements-it didn't help I didn't realize it was choc flav and was

putting it in juice! yuck! Now I just put it into baked goods and

when its gone I'll make sure I order what you have. I guess since the

other supps she takes from there are fruity flavored I just assumed

the flavor in this was similar.
