-- HI Ken , well you named the main things of ADD ,My son is going

to have to see a (shrink ) and they are they Doctors that prescribe

the medicine unless your ped's will In my case the Dr. wont . We are

set up for an appointment for Feb 14th at 1:00 . I cannot wait he

is driving me crazy, he won't focus in school and wants to jump

ahead of the class on answering all the questions first , He has

been getting in alot of trouble their,we have already been in a Rip

program which is a behavior program and that lasted a year and I try

to use all the techniques that they do but nothing seems to work .

We do use a timer with corner time but he cries and yells and

doesn't want to stand their for his five minutes , Spanking is for

the birds her just laughs at me and tells me he hates me, I have

been very stressed out with him but you gotta love em ... Well let

me know if this was any help and write back and let me know how

I would not jump to ADD or ASHD. Check out Central Auditory Processing

Disorder...

Hi ,

I checked out the web sites below. seems to have only 2 or 3 of

those characteristics. However, on a web page I just found that lists

9 characterisics of ADD, he solidly has 8 of them. If I were to ask

you to describe my son, you could use the ADD list and be 90%

accurate.

However, we are trying to schedule a doctors appointment and we will

certainly bring up CAPD as a possibility.

Hi ,

Yes that helps. However, is a very quiet, shy boy. His problem

lie mainly in foscusing on tasks and avoiding homework etc. He is

very patient.
