Guest guest
Hi Ken, You said: >With that said, given that many of us feed our kids a high fat diet >in order to get their weight up, I would not be surprised to see a >high cholesterol level in many RSS children. >If you can, I would contact a nutritionist and see if you can find >some foods that will help her gain weight and help reduce her >cholesterol, LDL, HDL, and Tri g Levels. >If you find this miracle food, please let the rest of us know about >it. It has been my experience with my daughter that her cholesterol was high but then declined after changing her diet to high fat and protein. I realize this must fly in the face of what you have learned and read over the years but please read my prior post, " High Cholesterol & Meats- Separating Fact from Fiction " , and it will explain why not only my daughter's cholesterol went down but so did my husband's. Our doctor's approach has added weight for , and more importantly it is weight from muscle. I cannot emphasis how important it is that ONLY the correct types of oils and fats are consumed otherwise they do end up working against you. Shortly I will post a list and explanation of good/bad oils and fats that dramatically affect the hormonal system. I think you will find it informative.
