Guest guest
The big thing about Soy products you have to watch for is that the isoflavones in soy can inhibit your thyroid - and if you are hypothyroid (like I am) or on the verge of it, your thyroid production can be decreased. Having low thyroid (hypothyroid) can slow your weight loss (among other things) therefore it's important to avoid soy at all costs if this is a problem for you. There are so many good soy protein products out there that I just can't touch, which is a bummer. But I just stick to whey protein and it's ok. I wish whey were as trendy as soy is right now, because i would have a lot more choices, but oh well. -Sherry (Lake Marcel, WA) Duodenal Switch Surgery Feb. 2, 2001 self-pay 5'5 " / 286 pounds / 34 years old Lost 9 pounds in pre-op weight loss efforts Have lost 125 pounds since surgery!
