Guest guest
I used to read somewhere (not sure if it was on this list) about taking enzymes if you have Crohn's. Anyone heard of this? Luckily, I'm starving in the morning so I eat the main meal then. I eat light at night. What about mini-meals? You could have a quiche and go-to foods for morning so you don't have to wake up cooking. I love breakfast though. Is time a major factor? Used to have no time for breakfast so I ate mostly at night. That's why I mentioned having quiche and go-to foods for mornings. [Attachment(s) from included below] Hi Holly, Here is an article on digestion that has really helped me. I used to have to take digestive enzymes with practically everything I ate. With the help of this article, I have learned how to let my own body’s digestive system deal with my food intake. All it takes is a little adjustment to when and how you eat your food. Good luck, GERDS and chronic C. SCD 2 yrs Re: Dinner digestion question I REALLY need to work on this as well. I consume at least 2/3 of my calories from 6 PM on. This used to work fine for me, but lately, I'm finding myself bloaty and excessively glurky come bedtime. My typical eating schedule is as follows: Breakfast (8:00 AM): 1 cup of yogurt with 1/2 tbsp. honey, cup of green teaLunch (2:00 PM): Almond butter brownie, slice of cheese (or 1/2 tbsp of coconut oil), sometimes a serving of fruit, and 2 glasses of water Supper (6:00 PM): Meat, 1/3 cup each of 2 kinds of veggies with butter and salt, 1 tbsp of almond butter, 1/3 cup frozen yogurt, glass of waterSnack (8:00 PM): 1 cup of Welch's grape juice (1/2 water, 1/2 juice) Snack (10:00 PM): 1 cup of yogurt with 1/2 tbsp honey, cup of green teaHollyCrohn'sSCD 12/01/

If I ate nothing but fruit for breakfast, I would be sicker than the proverbial dawg. Fruit on an empty stomach sends my blood sugar sky high. Then it drops like a rock. For me, it is absolutely critical to have protein and fat to back up and balance the sugars in the fruit. Protein and fat, for me, even out the absorption of the fruit sugar so that I don't have multiple highs and lows. Likewise, if I don't have a protein and fat rich dinner, I'll find myself snacking all evening. And I end up eating far more than I would have if I had a reasonable dinner. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
