Hi There

Just wanted to let you know that this happened to Finlay about a year

ago. We had to change the size of the micKey - from 14Fr to 16 Fr -

I was surprised that it could happen so suddenly as I thought a

problem like this would happen more gradually - anyway after doing

the sort of trouble shooting you are doing ( changing the mikKey -

for one the same size and filling the balloon with an extra 2ccs of

water) we found going up a size (in Fr)- and possibly (I can't

remember now) down a size in length was the solution. There are

measurment guages you can use to determine the correct length of the

micKey - but the important size to change is the Fr size.

Hope this helps

Best wishes

--Hi Jenyfer,

It is difficult when you have tried all of the little tricks that

you know of and the problem still exists. Mollie has had her tube

for almost three years now, and we too seem to have more problems

with leaking when she is sick. In fact we have been dealing with it

all week. I know that her stomach seems to empty much more slowly

when she is ill.She is only gtube fed for 12 hours overnight, but

she will continue leaking throughout the day as well. I agree with

Jodi though, anything that is out of the norm, you should contact

your physician. I know that this is not an answer for you. But you

are not alone.
