Guest guest
Actually, as hospitals go, Mt. Sinai isn't too bad. Most of the rooms are semi-private, meaning you have a roommate. The private rooms are few and far between; even I couldn't arrange one for myself. The private rooms on the floor I was on were being used for people who required isolation. The hospital supplies bed linens, but the bariatric gowns are in short supply. I would suggest you take your own night shirts. The hospital provides soap, but not shampoo, toothpaste or a toothbrush. As for meals, you will receive lovely clear liquids or " slush and mush " --pureed food. Delish! For those who are stuck in NYC sans family--I'm but a brief cab ride away from Mt. Sinai, and can supply forgotten items or phone support as needed. Contact me privately for phone #'s. Dr. Pomp 10/3/01--down 26 lbs in 5 weeks, but I know I'll be the only one for whom this surgery doesn't work!
