The title is generally the last thing an author chooses because until the book is finished he doesn't really know what he has. Hemingway said "I make a list of titles after I finish the book, sometimes as many as

a hundred. Then I start eliminating them - sometimes all of them." But choosing a title can summarize the

action in several words, e. g., Driving Miss Daisy; or a string of words, e. g. Sister Ignatius Explains It

All to You; or the setting, e. g., Our Town; the heart of the book in one word, e. g. Doubt, and my favorite for giving you more or less the whole shebang, A Street Car Named Desire.

Once we are deep in the book, titles will suggest themselves to us. Our first step will be choosing what element of the book will best express what we are trying to convey. Each us should keep this in

mind as the book slowly comes into being. And remember content and structure have to be understood

first. Jack79/IPF - UIP/dx06/05 Maine

Cees,

Another title for consideration is "Three Years To Live" This is what many of us were told on our first visit to the Pulmonologist. Plus, many of us didn't even know what Pulimonary Fibrosis was till we got home and looked it up "on line" and found , Sure enough...... three to five years! Can anyone imagine the shock?"Three years to live" could also be a first chapter, explaining why so many Doctors are in error when they tell us these things this chapter could Include many of the life stories. The next chapter " No Date Stamp On Our Butts! Explaining how this "on line family" operates and the great information we get here in "spite" of what the Doctors tell us. And this is where most of us learned about the date stamp. (I keep looking for mine, none yet...) Just a thought....

Wo Wo Wo! I leave for Venice tomorrow. I now have a Sequil and four batteries!.. .. Have O2 .....Will travel.

Jack.. right on here. When I wrote my book I had a tentative title, soon didn't like it. It was more than half way through the book when the title came to me and I knew immediately that it was the right one.

Did you like the title?

B... books are no longer available through Amazon. Only me now.

It's a long story but when I stopped marketing myself my books soon slowed to not many.

They say they do have a few 'used' ones for less money......I haven't checked them out for a long while. I will later.
