Some kids don't even eat that wide a diet. Miss Robens has some crunchy veg. snacks. Can you puree bananas or some other fruit and add to waffles? Guest guest
-Hi, your daughter's diet seems pretty OK to me. Have you tried veggie booties, or fruity booties? She gets a good amount of protien from beans. Have you tried chickpea flour to make bread? Hope this helps. -- In GFCFKids@y..., cliffybayer@y... wrote: > > Can anyone give some advice on how to introduce new food to my > > daughter? Some kids don't even eat that wide a diet. I sort of agree. My wife and I have had these discussions alot over the past year from even before our son started on the diet. is 4 1/2 and initially tried lots of new foods with the diet. But still settled down to mainly GFCF cinnamon toast barbecue sauce or ketchup with meat choc soy milk and other things, but those are what come to mind. He was eating lots of tuna and then we decided to not serve tuna at home to anyone because of the mercury. I don't know that his two older NT sisters were much better at his age. He likes berries too. The main issue in my opinion regarding nutrition was his health as judged by appearance. He used to be below the charts, scrawny looking. You could see his ribs and it was disturbing to me to see this. The diet seemed to change all that, big time. He's filled out very nicely, on the ped. chart finally, has what as a father I think is a nice amount of energy for his age. How old is your daughter, how long on the diet, and are you being very strict? We've found that getting more strict as the diet progresses is very important. I hope this is helpful. Guest guest
My son is 41/2 and very picky. Until about 8 months ago all he would eat on his gfcfdiet was soy yogurt(which he enderd up being allergic to) , jelly on rice crackers , toast and chips and cookies. Now he eats chicken, hamburger, turkey, carrots. As you can see he is still picky but at least is getting better nutrition. This is what I do. One bite of chicken and he can have a potato chip(which he loves). and lots of praise when he eats the good stuff. we try new foods vewry gradually. I also put diced veggies in his tomato sauce and he doesnt even know hes eating it. good luck. karen

Guest guest
Thanks Everyone!!! What everybody suggested is exactly what I'm doing. So at least I know I'm on the right track. My daughter is 2 1/2 years old. She was a picky eater even before the diet. She's have been on the diet at least 8 months now (5 - CF and 3 - GF). But her intake of food has not increase since the diet. Once again thanks for the input. I'll keep doing what everyone suggested. ) Evelyn
