Thanks .....we have a back pack in the car that is in there at all

times with things like food, toliet paper, whistle, flashlight, playing

cards, meds, gloves, etc and of course we always put extra blankets in the

car along with case of bottled water and dog food for the dogs.

Im gonna have to check the store shelves for more variety in high protein

foods to store. I dont like things too salty so corned beef is probably not

going to be on my list. The thing is to remember to rotate them all so

nothing gets wasted. Jerky in bulk is another good idea.

Wal Marts pre natals are pretty cheap as are the costco brand......so I will

stock up on those for about 6 months.....also our ADEKS and that wont be a

problem as 6 for Mike and 6 for me would be a yrs supply!

Another thing we can do in the spring for those of us who have the room is

to put in a veggie garden and then start canning items that we can use

during the winter. Even if you dont use them that year they will keep for

many years if canned properly so there will always be some foods to eat and

you can can meats and pressurize them for safety.

Hugs, Judie
