Guest guest
I have a few questions: 1) I have a 6.5 yr old son who has always been " difficult " -- always in a rage. I recently filled out the ATEC form online and he got a score of 60. Is there a website that describes what the scores mean? His brother got a score of 7. Interestingly, when tested by GPL, my raging, violent son had much lower peptide scores than his brother (10x lower). He's also the most affected by the gfcf diet. What does this mean? We put him on a gfcf diet and the change in him is amazing. He is delightful and happy, a real chatterbox who is friendly to all, who says " please " and " thank you " and apologizes when appropriate. 2) The problem right now is that he is on the antibiotic biaxin (verified gfcf by the manufacturer) and he is back to raging. He has to stay on this antibiotic for 2 weeks, and I really don't want him to be this way for 2 weeks! I'm giving him acidophilus, 15 billion cfu's, in the middle of the day, and I'm not sure it's helping much. He's fairly pleasant while things are going his way, but if his activity is interrupted, or someone disagrees with him, he explodes into a semi-violent rage (he's hitting and kicking but purposely missing us). Is there anything I can do about this? He has to be on the antibiotic. Someone suggested he take alka seltzer gold and pepcid ac, but I thought those were for gfcf infractions. Will they help with the antibiotic? TIA, Lis
Guest guest
> Biaxin is not GFCF, our pharmacist contacted the manufacturer months >ago and they stated they could not guarantee that it is GFCF. Also, I would >give your child a Pepcid AC for the next several days. I am feeling so screwed. I worked with this pharmacy for well over an hour, trying to find an antibiotic that was gfcf, yet agreeable to the doctor as well. Calls were made to manufacturers, etc. -- I didn't just accept a quick reading of the ingredients to mean gfcf. I really hate how I can't trust *any* info. We've been following his abx dose with his acidophilus 2 hours later, and he's settling down. He's getting upset, but not violent. >You might want to go to a compound pharmacy next time to get an >antibiotic made. How can I find one of these? I doubt there is one near here, as I live in the middle of nowhere. > Hope life gets better. Thanks! Having 3 children with whooping cough is no fun! We can't go out in public til the last one is finished with his abx (another week). But I'll tell you, the cases these unvaxxed children have are a lot milder than the case my oldest and fully vaxxed child had. LIs
