Guest guest
My son started spinning around, and he looks at his cards (flashcards:letters or numbers, his greatest interest), while he does that. He will twirl round and round and round; it gets me dizzy just looking at him, I don't know how does he do it! He will do it four or five times a day, or more. He started doing this a couple of days ago, and it has also been a week that he lost his very good eye contact (always been good during ABA therapy, now it is hard to have him look at us), and he is generally a lot more hyper and stimmy. We cannot get his cards away for a minute (the teacher reported that she takes them away and he does fine, but not at home!!!); he would bathe with them if he could! Suggestions anyone? The teacher told me yesterday, that she caught him licking the home made theraputty they play with (I have not been able to make him a gfcf one to send to school, so he plays with the one they have). I am not sure if he has gotten anything different at school while the teacher wans't looking. He shares drinks at school, so I sned in some M.M. OJ, but teacher said he had some juicy juice grape juice. Is that gfcf? I am worried now. He has been doing very good all thesae six ++ months of diet. Things seem to be falling apart since about a month now. We moved in this new house in July, and he did fine; when school started, I wasn't sure it was OK (different school too), but things keep going down instead of up! Even his in home ABA. He is progressing, and mastering his drills, but he is not as happy to work, and he seems always distracted and absent. What do I do? What is doing this to him? I stopped the SNT three days ago in the hope it was that (he has been on it almost six months). I started HNI enzymes almost five weeks ago, and melatonin six++ weeks ago. He is doing better in sleep, but can the enzymes have this kind of effect? He is not even answering to his name or trying to sit for a meal, or even complying to " come here " . Please anyone, I am going nuts here. IDEAS???? Cristina-WA Proud (but nuts) mom to 4.9 yo ASD, sarah & 2.1 yo NT twins.
Guest guest
Cristina, When Jane drinks juicy juice she goes bonkers. I am pretty sure it is gfcf or I wouldn't have started buying it when I began the diet. I don't know what it is, but I usually give her Welche's Grape or Gerber Pear and that goes over better. but teacher said he had some juicy juice grape juice. Is > that gfcf? > I stopped the SNT three days > ago I forget, did you take off the SNT bc you thought he might be allergic to an ingred in it? We noticed HUGE changes when we took Jane off SNT. More stimming, less focused. She has been on the hypoallergenic NuThera for two weeks and the change(for the better) is incredible. Plus, no problems with diarrhea, tummy aches, etc.. I know this didn't answer your question, just wanted to help with what I knew. Good Luck! Janelle

Guest guest
There is a guy I used to work with who's son is ADD. Every 3 months for 2 years, his teachers would call him into a meeting and kept pushing him to put his son on Ritalin. He hyperactivity was driving his teachers nuts. His wife started an elimiation diet to see if there was a connection with food and his activity level. She discovered that when she eliminated apple juice and red food coloring out of his diet, he was completely normal. Two years of struggle and it was that simple. Gluten and casein are not the only things that can affect our kid's activity level. > Cristina, > When Jane drinks juicy juice she goes bonkers.
