" A Work in Progress " by Ron Leaf and McEachin. This is standard ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis) -- in this case, precision teaching via DTT (Discrete Trials Training). This is what is called " Lovaas-style ABA, " named after Ivar Lovaas, the clinician who engineered the first successful scientific demonstration of an approach that would work with autistic children. At the moment, it is considered by many to be somewhat outdated, because of the advances introduced by Sundberg and Partington by their inclusion into ABA of Skinner's analysis of verbal behaviour (see the following book), but it is the ABA bible, IMO. 2. " Teaching Language to Children with Autism or Other Developmental Disabilities " by Mark Sundberg and Partington. IMO, it is essential that you have this book to work from. You should be able to obtain both of these books from Sundberg and Partington (www.behavioranalysts.com)
