Here's what i've come up with; Date April 8-11 Thur. - Sun. Clarion Hotel, Sacramento, Ca. www.clarion- manson-inn. pacifichost. com $89.00 per night, 2 beds, 10 rooms have been set aside for our group, Reservations will be avaliable untill Mar. 18, '10, after which rooms will be sold at the extablished rate. Group dinner Lucca Resturant Fri. evening. all inclusive dinner (except adult drinks) $35.00 per person (includes tax and tip). I have contacted Rock with the Central Valley Pulmonary Fibrosis Support Group in Sac. for any in the group to join us (at their own expence). Hornblower river cruise dinner Sat. evening $69.00 per person. I beleive this is a 3 hour cruise, but, will make sure and let you know of time and duration. Sunday breakfast (brunch) before checking out, goodbys, hugs kisses, handshakes. All other times are for us, sit back, relax, go to old town shops, ect. maybe find a wine tasting room or two? Any questions, i'll find the answers. Thank you Ken Overman Hope to see many there.

Guest guest
Bruce, Thank you - I have learned to research this information before I make plans to go anywhere. The internet has been a lifesaver in so many ways by making so much valuable information easily available. In 2007 when I thought I was in pretty good shape relative to my DX I had to make a business trip to Colorado Springs for a conference and then on the Albuquerque NM. Needless to say walking from one building to another the first night at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs I almost went to the ER - did need EMT help and 02. I then learned that even healthy folks often are affected with altitude sickness at these elevation. That was really a terribly frightening experience for me. It has been another learning curve that docs don't even warn you about, but is certainly important to know. Guest guest
Dorothy Well, one of the real rules of living with this disease and living with oxygen is to learn to always over prepare. Think of the worst case situations and just have a plan in place. Flying just figure on delays and rerouting and all the insane things that can happen. Driving, think of the car breaking down or of getting sick on the way. As to the altitude sickness, I use to fly through Bogota (60% higher than Denver). The airlines probably should warn people but don't. We always warned people not to eat a big meal on the day or evening of arrival and that any alcohol would have a much greater effect. Bogota ER's are filled often with travelers who eat big meals and get hit by the altitude issues. It would certainly not be the place to live with a lung disease. > > > > Great > > Dorothy Reinecke > > > > > > ________________________________ > > From: Overman kenover44@ > > To: Breathe-Support@ <mailto:Breathe-Support%40yahoogroups.com> > yahoogroups.com > > Sent: Thursday, October 22, 2009 8:44:24 PM > > Subject: Re: Sacramento trip > > > > > > 25 ft. > > > > > > > > > > ________________________________ > > From: Dorothy Reinecke <atlantadorothy@ att.net> > > To: Breathe-Support@ yahoogroups. com > > Sent: Thu, October 22, 2009 5:31:58 PM > > Subject: Re: Sacramento trip > > > > > > Ken, > > Do you know what the altitude is in Sacremento? > > Dorothy Reinecke > > > > > > > > > > > > ________________________________ > > From: Overman kenover44 (AT) yahoo (DOT) com> > > To: Breathe-Support@ yahoogroups. com > > Sent: Thursday, October 22, 2009 8:14:46 PM > > Subject: Re: Sacramento trip > > > > > > Reservation Ref. # 8239 Breathe-Support Group. > > > > > > > > > > ________________________________ > > From: Overman kenover44 (AT) yahoo (DOT) com> > > To: Breathe-Support@ yahoogroups. com > > Sent: Thu, October 22, 2009 4:39:55 PM > > Subject: Sacramento trip > > > > > > Good afternoon all. > > > > Here's what i've come up with; > > > > Date April 8-11 Thur. - Sun. > > Clarion Hotel, Sacramento, Ca. www.clarion- manson-inn. pacifichost. > com $89.00 per night, 2 beds, 10 rooms have been set aside for our > group, Reservations will be avaliable untill Mar. 18, '10, after which > rooms will be sold at the extablished rate. > > > > Group dinner Lucca Resturant Fri. evening. all inclusive dinner > (except adult drinks) $35.00 per person (includes tax and tip).
