Guest guest
Hi emily, A few years ago a Doctor Wolman from Germany presented some research results at the Magic Convention. Dr. Wolman and Dr. Stanhope in England are among very few doctors doing research on RSS. I'm sorry, but I do not know where in Germany he is. You might want to contact Salem Brock and see if she has an address for him. Where in Germany are you going (maybe)? How long will you be there? I hope there is a very very big raise in it for you. I hope this helps. Guest guest
We would be there a min of a year, quite possible 2 years. And as for a raise... well, let's put it this way. would be making more alone there, not including his Cost of Living, than he and I are making TOGETHER right now. It's HUGE opportunity for him and we're considering it. I also ran across the name Dr T Eggermann, Institute of Human Genetics in Aachen, Germany. I'm trying to contact that individual as well. Do you have any way of contacting Salem? Thank you for the information! ~ > > Hi emily, > > A few years ago a Doctor Wolman from Germany presented some research > results at the Magic Convention. Guest guest
HI , is a member of this list and posts frequently. She might answer it on her own. If you want to contact her right away, her e- mail address is: magicrss @mindspring.com. She lives in Calif. Some friends of ours had a similar opportunity. They went to England for a year and ended up staying 5. They loved it but were finally glad to be back home. My vote ( not that my vote counts for anything ), I would say go for it. It is a once in a lifetime chance. Maybe your husband can ask for a small reduction in pay in exchange for 2 company paid trips a year to England to see Dr. Stanhope. I hope this helps. Guest guest
Unfortunately, Dr. Wollmann is no longer a practicing endocrinologist, as he went in house to a pharmaceutical company. However, Stanhope is a hop, skip and jump away in London, England -- about as far as some of us travel to NY to see Harbison! I would trust him implicitly. Also, one of our RSS families is from Belgium, the Rosens, and they started an RSS Foundation in Belgium. You can email me privately for her address. But she may know of a good endo in Germany (although she brings her daughter to New York to be treated by Harbison, for gosh, about 6 years now....) The opportunity sounds fantastic. I think everything will work out, and again, Stanhope isn't that far away, worse case.
