Guest guest
, LOL Yes I think you were the I meant. You seem to be one of the most knowledgable people on this board. Thank you for responding. The differences in the #'s was just so confusing. I don't know if we've seen much change in our son's behavior since pre-diet. At first he was really jabbering alot. That has slowed some, but is still an improvement. He also seems a little calmer although he was never really very hyper, and he seems to show more interest in new things. Thanks again, Rhonda
Guest guest
On the chance I am the " " in question, I will give my thoughts. Yes, it is possible. For one, that fits in the time frame of healing a leaky gut (I'm on this leaky gut jag at the moment, lol). Maybe his gut wasn't terribly bad, but that is sufficient time for healing. Next, the peptide tests run about 80% reliable. Not that the tests are done incorrectly, but just that the tests do not correlate exactly into what you should do about it. example: someone has been casein free for 1 year and the tests come back higher than before. or some continues so consume gluten and the results drop. Dr. Shaw told me that the soy peptides can interfere with the results and I believe this is printed on the test results (somewhere). Your son may not have had a problem with soy peptides and so this is accurate for you. But it could be a fluke in the other direction, too. The REAL test to go by is how is your son doing? Does he seem better? Is he happier over all? Did being on the diet make any difference. Go by your son's reactions more than the test results. If you have concerns, just call the lab and ask them their opinion. Say you are concerned that it looks " too good " and see what they say. . Guest guest
Hi Rhonda, I've had this same test done on my son through Great Plains. They have recently changed how they score the results. We did ours in August and only received results on the casein because their source for testing gluten was temporarily not available (unreliable source or something like that was what they told me). Our first results were: Casein : >800 Gluten: none When we finally received the gluten results the scoring had changed. The results were: casein: 400 Ratio: 5.56 Normal Casein Ratio: <1.88 Gluten: 131.24 Ratio: 1.85 Normal Gluten Ratio: <1.85 You can call them Directly with questions-I've called them four or five times and gotten all my questions answered . Hope this helps. Kathy

Guest guest
Hi Kathy, Have you retested? Did you see major changes in the #'s like we have? Did you stay on the diet? What enzymes, supps, etc. are you giving? We had just started EnzymeAid before the retest. And EFA's put nothing really on a regular basis. (It's hard to get anything like that into him) Have to practically sit on him to do it....LOL Thanks, Rhonda

Guest guest
Rhonda, We have not retested. Even though for some reason Gr. Plains decided to change the way they score results. we are casein free. Just prior to receiving our results I experimented with reintroducing just one food, one time on two separate occasions-both times in exactly two hours he had diarhea so I was convinced through our own " testing " that he could not tolerate casein. Wheat came back right at normal and we were gluten free for about 3 wks. My stress level with the diet was high so he's currently back on gluten products. I feel he's not as responsive and stims more so we've been gearing up to try again. I just received my order from Kinnickinnick's-Have your tried them? The doughnuts are excellent and I do not like most of the gfcf foods. Enzymaid, I believe, is designed for incidental g/c infractions. So I only give this when I know there's been one. There has been quite a few posts lately on enymes that sound even better than Kirkman's-check out the website-www.houstonni.com. My son is on the following supplements: Calmac, Essential Fatty Acids, Zinc, CoQ10, Esberitox (Imm. Sys), Vit C., ProBio Gold (yeast), and a multi vitamin. If you're looking for a good EFA I use ChildLife brand and It's good- supposed to be butterschot flavored but I can hardly taste it.
