Guest guest
Hi Have been trying to gain weight cant eat banans(constipate), blend all foods, alittle trouble with beef and eggs (raw seems better ) trying to lower sugars that feed candida and other " stuff " . Trying to find legal antiparasite supplements Do lots of broth and geletin, blended egg and pear(cooked, chicken and avocado with garlic(figure that helps rid bad stuff and increases appetite). What helps absorbtion? Do stretching and Tai chi helps for constipation, but its been awhile and glycerin is too irritating. Can I just use lecithin or fish oil capsules? Thank you Lynn D
Guest guest
Here is my experience with SCD. I started SCD coming off prednisone and at a healthy weight. 126 lbs. at 5' 4 " . For the first 1 year and 3 months my weight stayed consistent. The next 3 months I gained 10 pounds in what seemed liked overnight. I've bounced between 135 and 140 since then. Almost a year now. I think the reason I started gaining weight was because I started absorbing. 135 - 140 is the weight I was before I lost down to 114 when I was at my sickest so I think that's just my body's natural weight. I think the only thing that helps with absorption is healing. I've suffered from C since I was 19. I blame this on working at McD's and eating their food for 5 years. My GI said that was probably when my Crohn's became active and it was just mild for the next 10 years before my first flare. SCD did not " fix " my C. I still go through bouts of it and I think it's related to my monthly cycle. The thing I found that works the best is stewed prune juice. I take 5 prunes per cup of water and simmer them for several hours. Then I blend them in the blender and drink a cup of that a day. Most days it helps me have a BM. I did not drink this until I was on the diet for a year. I can't tolerate very much nut flours foods to eat the muffins... well if I could only eat 1 a day I might could, but I have no self control. My C did get worse the first couple months on the diet. I had tried C remedies at first and it just made it worse. I take fish oil and it's never helped my C at all. It's good for you though. I have done yoga for the last 7 years and it hasn't helped my C at all. There are several natural anti parisites. I rotate oil of oregeno, capryl, and olive leaf. Right now, I'm on a one month rotation of oil of oregeno. I take a dose every tuesday and thursday. Next month I'll do capryl and so on. Coconut oil is also a potent anti fungal and will help you gain weight. I used to use it in place of oil in a lot of dishes like scrambled eggs (yummm). One coconut oil has a lesser coconut flavor, I think it's the expeller pressed, but I've only bought the kind at Whole Foods that has a distinct coconut flavor. TropicalTraditions.com is a site people here suggest using. I put a tablespoon or two of butter in everything I ate the first year. In chicken soup it's so yummy. I think that's maybe why I never lost weight. I ate lots of cheese and boiled eggs too. Cheese might make you too constipated though. When you can tolerate the yogurt (took me a few months to tolerate even a teaspoon and I worked up from there), yogurt made with half and half or heavy cream is full of calories and very yum. You can eat up to 3 cups a day if you tolerate. 3 cups of heavy cream yogurt is full of good fat and calories. =D Misty Kimble CD - no meds SCD - 2 + years > > Hi > Have been trying to gain weight > cant eat banans(constipate), > blend all foods, alittle trouble > with beef and eggs (raw seems better ) > trying to lower sugars that feed candida > and other " stuff " . > Trying to find legal antiparasite supplements > Do lots of broth and geletin, blended egg and > pear(cooked, chicken and avocado with garlic(figure that helps rid > bad stuff and increases appetite).
