Guest guest
What does this rash look like? It could be dermatitis herpetiformes, which is celiac disease - so yes, it could be due to gluten. Margaret

He also gets two different types of rashes. One type is for his food allergies, the other type is DH, a form of celiac. So I would suspect your child is either celiac or has some food allergies. Here is my celiac link, at the bottom you will find the dermatitis herpetiformis page, which includes photos. Most DH also itches, but my son's did not. http://www.celiac.com/index.html Please advise...She has a 4 year old > autistic brother who is on the diet but the diet has not done much > for him Its urgent. My #2 son is autistic, so similar to your children in that older one is autistic and younger one might be PDD. Here is my dx info. http://home.pacbell.net/cscomp/parentin.htm#diagnostic Gfcf did not " remarkably " improve my kids until I removed all the foods they had problems with, you can consider testing http://www.greatplainslaboratory.com/ One more thing, some kids have " chicken skin " rash from lack of EFAs, so you can consider supplementing with that. But it did not help my #3 son until I removed the bad foods and started with digestive enzymes http://www.houstonni.com/ Dana

Guest guest
my son also had the bumpy leg rash that has gone away since removing gluten, i would suggest having her urine tested for yeast also. Has your son been tested for yeast? the gfcf diet alone can't help too much if there is an underlying yeast overgrowth that goes undetected in the intestines. good luck
Guest guest
let me clarify, i didn't mean to make it sound like yeast was more important than gfcf i just wanted to offer the idea that if her son was not gaining too much on gfcf that she might want to check for yeast issues as well with both children, along with gfcf, because in many cases kids that bennefit from gfcf also bennefit from antifungal treatment.
