I believe Sheila keeps in touch and they do try to accomodate our requests for compliance. Personally I only tried three products and didliked them. To each his own. Carol F. Guest guest
In fairness to DW I decided to place an order and try some of the products again. It turns out: They don't ship to Canada. If they did ship it would have to be by UPS as ordinary post would cause the product to go bad. That is very costly. I'd need ice packs which cost extra. i would have to order on only certain days to get it before it spoiled. A loaf of DW bread is nearly $10.00 U.S.( if they did ship to Canada add tax and duty). Total time for me to make Lois Lang Bread from BTVC (prep time) is 5 minutes in the food processor and the cost maybe $3.00 Canadian. I can have more than four home made loaves for the price of one " convenience " loaf which as it happens, I am unable to order. I can add walnuts, olives, raisins, garlic, cheese and or herbs too. I can brush it with egg for a brown crust I rest my case as a frugal Canadian with a penchant for gourmet touches! .. Carol F. Guest guest
Oh : ( That's just too bad... I wish you would've been able to taste their delicious stuff... For us here in the US it's not so complicated... Carol Frilegh wrote: In fairness to DW I decided to place an order and try some of the products again. It turns out: They don't ship to Canada. Guest guest
Their items are all SCD legal. They're very trustworthy.... and it's a blessing that they're out there. -Dena l_sprosty wrote: As I am new to the group, I saw Digestive Wellness mentioned on occasion, so I decided to check it out. I spoke with a repesentative about their products and she stated everything was scd compliant. Does anyone know if they have certain items that would not be scd compliant???? Guest guest
I've ordered almond flour, almondie almond butter, yogurt makers, extra jars, some extras ;-). They are always sooo nice. I live in Houston which is pretty hot in the summer months. They were very helpful via email when I tried to talk them into sending me yogurt or maybe it was mayonnaise. They wouldn't because they were afraid it would spoil on the way here. They are really nice folks. Very helpful. I've talked to Lucy at Lucy's Kitchen Shop also on the phone and she is extremely helpful in all things SCD. Just FYI. Really can't say enough nice things about both places. Debbie 41 cd Hi all, I was wondering if any of you have ordered products from Digestive Wellness, and what you think of it? You can email me offlist if you like at naffierporras@.... I've never ordered anything from them, but I was searching the internet for SCD cookie recipes (I have a sweet tooth this week), and found some packaged SCD cookies I could order from them. I have been cooking/baking/preparing everything for myself for so long (over 2 years) that the idea of buying packaged cookies just sounds SO luxurious. But I wanted to get some input before trying it. I'd be interested in their pecan flour too (I think they call it pecan meal) if anyone has comments about that. Thanks, Ann
Guest guest
I ordered baked goods from them once and DH enjoyed them. Only reason I didn't get again is because I don't like to spend the money. You can get a sample pack - it's 1 or 2 of each cookie - to see what you like. I also got some pecan meal but since it's the only pecan meal I ever used, I have nothing to compare it to. It seemed good to me! I still have some left and have no idea what to do with it, since I discovered DH doesn't like pecan flavored cake, and DS is allergic anyway. Sigh - what a waste. I don't suppose any of you live in Las Vegas and want to take it off my hands?
